Jim Becket Director

Jim Becket  brings a varied career to his film making: ski racer, developmental economist, human rights lawyer, international civil servant, journalist and author. He wrote the first Amnesty International Report on Torture and, as Director of Public Information for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, made several films about refugee problems around the world, which he followed with other documentary and educational films, notably on health issues as well as the environment. He has also directed feature films, television movies and continues to write scripts and direct movies. His awards include festival Best Film Awards, two Humanitas Awards, and a George Foster Peabody Award. Jim is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian.

Jim Whitney Cinematographer

Jim Whitney has a genius for both visuals and sound, which was fine tuned at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, and LA's USC Film School where he graduated cum laude. He began his professional career at A&M and EMI records as Director of Music Videos. Since then Jim has worked with both Oscar and Emmy winning directors and has edited numerous documentaries which have appeared on the networks, PBS, Discovery, Bravo and Lifetime. His own awards include the Focus Award for excellence in documentary editing, the Jury Award at the New York Film Festival, and the Special Award at the Ann Arbor Film Festival.

Denis Maloney

Denis left a lucrative career in the New York advertising industry to pursue his passion as a cinematographer. Since then he has worked on more than sixty feature films, most notably the Oscar-nominated drama, The Contender, starring Jeff Bridges and Joan Allen. He has also filmed numerous documentaries, industrials, commercials and television series, and has worked with many Hollywood stars including William H. Macey, Kirsten Dunst and Malcolm McDowell. Denis's broad experience, stylistic versatility, and creative imagination make him a key collaborator on any film project, and for this reason he has shot or consulted on all of Jim Becket's films.



Camilla Becket Producer

Camilla Becket  began her career in South Africa, with independent media organizations that first published the work of anti apartheid artists and intellectuals, including Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Once in the U.S., and before transitioning into filmmaking, she worked as a ghostwriter and book editor while also producing author promotions and marketing books. Her clients included Random House and Harper Collins as well as several independents. She produces most of the promotional and fundraising videos for Becket Films clients and also works with small businesses and non-profits to develop an online media presence. For filmmaking she has received a Telly Award.

Billy Goodrum

Whether he's writing film scores, pop songs, jazz pieces or modern dance routines, Billy is well known for his versatility and range. An honors graduate from the Berklee College of Music, Billy has played with jazz icons Lionel Hampton and Ronnie Laws, collaborated with pop star Vanessa Carlton, composed and toured with alternative rocker Julia Fordham, scored a television series for Paramount, written the soundtrack for several feature films, and contributed songs to the famed Farrelly Brothers hit comedies, including Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary, and The Three Stooges. After Billy composed music for several projects BecketFilms made for the Epilepsy Foundation, he has been attached to all of Jim and Camilla's non-fiction films.
