You've soul searched; you've researched; you've completed boatloads of paperwork . . . finally, you have your child's picture and you're ready to go.
We traveled to China with a group of adoptive parents and recorded the first days with their daughters, then followed each family's progress for over a year when they returned home.
In the Chinese Adoption Project this group of smart, articulate parents openly share the immense joys—and stresses--that occurred for them in the first hours and days with their children, as well as the parenting issues that came up for them later. We also talked to adoption and child development specialists for insights into the adoption experience.
This film will be a video primer to anyone considering adopting internationally--particularly from China. Along with the amazing rewards, there are a few potential bumps in the road, and our film hopes to reveal ways to navigate them successfully.
Expected release: 2008
